The best part of real estate for me is my clients! Being a source of knowledge and making sure everyone is confident throughout the entire process is extremely important. Good communication and bringing a calm to the experience is my specialty. I am educated, laid back and will never try to ’sell’ you a home- that is absolutely your decision; I will give you my professional insight. My job is to be your guide to a successful real estate transaction and be your confidant along the way!
My love of real estate transpired after spending 11 years living and working on sailboats! You’d have a unique love for ’land homes’ too if you’ve spent that much time on the water! I was privileged enough to spend those years traveling through Newport, RI, Sag Harbor, NY-where I was captain for one of the top real estate agents in The Hamptons, Charleston, SC, West Palm Beach, FL, the Bahamas and the Caribbean – just to name a few. I still hold a 100 Ton USCG Captain’s license. Tired of the travel life, I found myself rooted back in Michigan in 2015.
I grew up on the shores of West Michigan and have found a renewed love of my hometown. We live in one of the absolute most beautiful places in the world and I am proud to be a part of the real estate industry here. Whether buying or selling, I’d be privileged to be your agent.
Meet Jambo Jambo! She is a 52’ Shannon ketch and was my home for 4 years when I was the professional captain onboard from 2011-2015. I was based out of Newport, RI and Sag Harbor, NY in the summers and the Bahamas and south Florida winters. I was in charge of her maintenance, navigation and basic safety when the owners were onboard. I was the only crew member. It was a lot of responsibility and a lot of fun! Here she is anchored off of Great Exuma Island in the Bahamas.
In between my captain jobs, I was doing boat deliveries for my captain friends! This picture was taken in the British Virgin Islands after sailing from Newport, RI. It took us a total of 8 days at sea on a 60’ Swan sloop, with a stop in lovely Bermuda. I sailed over 35,000 ocean miles during my time on the water, including a 24 day Pacific crossing and a very exciting Panama Canal transit!
I’ve been playing guitar/harmonica and writing songs before I was sailing. Starting a band called 75 Walls in my 20’s, we played gigs in Muskegon, Grand Haven and occasionally Grand Rapids. During my 11 years of traveling and working on boats, my guitar was my constant companion. I would often find the local tavern in whatever port I was in and ask to play for drinks and tips:)
